Heaven is a place like this

Pushing Daisies is the best new show on television. It's not even a horse race, people. Ever since the first week it aired, I've been craving a breakfast buffet, only I want it for every meal and it's not pancakes and such, it's Lee Pace.Add Kristin Chenoweth and Swoosie Motherfuckin' Kurtz and you're just trying to hurt me now. This show is part Tim Burton, part Six Feet Under, part Dr. Seuss, and 100% delightful. Then (then!) this week they throw Raul Esparza (who, you'll recall, ROCKED MY SOCKS as Bobby in the recent Broadway revival of Company) into the mix!?I could die. If you're not already, you need to start watching this show, lambs. You'll wanna come back to The Pie Hole week after week, just like me.

Lee Pace (The Pie Maker) really stiffens my meringue. If ya know what I mean.

And I think you do.

Something about this show - the instant it started I knew I would love it. The cutie Pie Maker, the Chenowith!, the aunts, the kissing through saran wrap!, the technicolor everything, the snappy quick dialogue. Adore it.

And WHERE has Lee Pace been hiding? He's a tall, dark drink of water, isn't he? Mrow.

Me, too, Mads. I hope they can keep it up.

I thought the same thing about Lee Pace, and IMDB shows he's been in quite a few things, including Wonderfalls, which I never caught. I get the sense that he's just come into his own, hotness-wise. You know? I'm always hoping that'll happen to me. At 42? Is it still possible? ;-)

The show makes me want to eat pie.

Michael, you haven't seen Wonderfalls? Please make some time to watch it. Besides the fact that Jeremy worked on the show, storyboarding, it is just as magical as Pushing Daisies except that the lead character is a disgruntled and generally annoyed chick who lives in a red trailer.

Ooh, Pushing Daisies is like Wonderfalls? I must make time for a date with my MiVo.

Plus the narrator is Jim Dale.

I haven't seen Wonderfalls, but I love the creator of PD's last show, Dead Like Me. PD is amazing, a true gem, with great writing.

My fear, however, is that is it so precious and wonderful, like other shows, it will not last. but it's worth getting the taste while we can.

btw, Bryan Fuller, the creator, said on NPR that he and Sonnenfeld like casting from theater, because theatre actors can better portray truth in a surreal kind of world. Basically, (my interpretation) is that most tv actors overplay the oddity, instead of embracing it as the world they live in.

We're loving Daisies here.

there are lots of elements also (the colors, the narration, the childhood references, the picture-like shots etc...) that borrow from the movie Amelie.
Great!

i've worked with the chenoweth, and she's amazing. she is JUST as sweet as you would want her to be. . . and funny and normal.

Sweet and funny and normal. Who wouldn't want to be described that way?

She always seems to be BURSTING with energy.
