Do I stay or run away?

It's times like these, early on a Saturday morning when the office staff is RAVING about Wild Hogs, that I feel most alone.

I sympathize. That's frightening.

I usually keep my own counsel when such discussions arise, but one of the women asked whether I'd see it, so I told her I can't stand to look at Tim Allen's face or Travolta's either. She proceeded to ask me what I'd seen lately that was really good. Again, normally I'd mention that "Casino Royale" is just out on DVD and that was really good, except by then I was in a mood so I extolled the virtues of "Pan's Labyrinth", explaining it dealt with guerrilla resistance to Franco's rule after the Spanish revolution, and simultaneously tells the story of a young girl's fantasy world where she's a princess who must complete tasks to regain her kingdom. And it's in Spanish with English subtitles. ::crickets chirp::

And don't get me wrong, "Pan's" is actually an AWESOME and ACCESSIBLE movie, but one they'd no sooner try than I'd try "Wild Hogs". I'm not saying I'm superior, just not one of them. Or this place.

OK, fuck that. If you say "that's the funniest thing I've seen in years" about "Wild Hogs", you're not as good as me.

You're such a culturally elite bitch.

I kid. I know exactly what you mean.

We went to the movies yesterday (Music & Lyrics, shut up) and we had a gift card so were forced to go to the theater at the mall. For a brief moment after fighting through the food court after-movie crowd, I felt like I was visiting from another planet. A thinner, quieter planet.

Didn't stop me from getting my William-Sonoma on, though.
