I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together

Edwards for President! Elizabeth, I mean. OK, OK, maybe not, but I'm loving her right now for stating the obvious this week at San Francisco's Pride parade. Her husband could learn something from her.
I don't know why somebody else's marriage has anything to do with me. I'm completely comfortable with gay marriage...If he's pleasant to me on the street, if his children don't throw things in my yard, then I'm happy. It seems to me we're making issues of things that honestly ... don't matter. Elizabeth Edwards

And I just ran across this passage in Barack's book (yes, I'm STILL reading it!):
Perhaps I just find the ways of the human heart too various, and my own life too imperfect, to believe myself qualified to serve as anyone's moral arbiter. I do know that in our fourteen years of marriage, Michelle and I have never had an argument as a result of what other people are doing in their personal lives.
Of course I wish he'd go further in support of equal rights for everyone, but I'm more and more committed to taking an active role in this next election. We can't assume anything based on the promising results of this midterm election and we can't afford to have things continue on the path they are on.

A cool and practical way of looking at gay life :)

How can anyone even argue with either point? So damn simple.

If everyone could think in those simple, common sense terms.

Did you see on the news that she confronted Ann "she-devil" Coulter for saying those things about her husband? Arguing with her seems like a waste of perfectly good air.

I did see that, Maddie. I know what you mean about a waste of time. And it just gives her more attention. Any luck it'll start some kind of backlash, though.

I'm all for people speaking their minds, but when that speak is all hate (and not even real hate....real hate means ignorance...fake hate is calculated and evil....much worse) and purely designed to pad their skanky, hatchet-faced bank accounts, then I think they should be GONE. By GONE, I mean no responsible news organization should give her air time, only are there any of those left? Responsible news agencies, I mean?

I've never heard such horrible words come out of one person. I think any news org. that gives her time should be ashamed of themselves. Ignorance is one thing, but she knows what she is saying, like you said. I too think she should be gone from media, along with Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly for that matter. They won't do that though, no matter how "responsible" they THINK they are, because it's all about ratings.

Well, I've pretty much given up on the regular news for any kind of accurate, fair reporting. I just watch the Daily Show.

Me too, maddie.

I saw the flap about Ann Coulter and did myself a favor and ignored it. I just don't have it in me right now to even form opinions on this bullshit. Ugh.
