If loving you is wrong, I don't wanna be right

Remember when I said I like to imagine that everyone in the gym is listening to the same songs that I am? Dudes are benching to Carol Channing and whatnot? Well, what if your iPod playlist were suddenly broadcast to the entire gym? My very favorite ex-pornstar, Tom Judson, discusses that and sundry other topics in an entertaining podcast at Julian Fleisher's Guilty Pleasures (or here). The skinny is that Julian interviews folks about the song they are loathe to love so much, but the conversation ambles (wittily) hither and yon from there. So far I've only heard La Judson's stint on the show (he's charming, smart, and hilarious, per usual) , but I look forward to confessions from the likes of Martha Plimpton, Mo Rocca, and Molly Ringwald (who's spawned entire soundtracks of guilty pleasures, right?). Enjoy, and thank me after!

ADDED: Oops! The point of this post, besides vigorously plugging Tom (mmmm....give me a moment), was to hear about your guilty pleasures. Mine's easy. Since I didn't partake of Ricky Martin's latest release, I have to go with Josh Groban. Not one song, I mean his whole music catalog. Love him, I do, but when the RANDOM mix has him bursting forth from the patio speakers in the summer, for all the neighbors to hear, I must admit I cringe a little. But, honestly, he's like the new Velvet Fog, right? Only, English, Spanish, Italian, Portugese, he sings in tongues, y'all. ::swoons:: ::(redfaced)::And yes, I know you were thinking Mayer, but he's a genius. The rest of you just don't know it yet.

I had friends over for dinner once, put the iPod on random, and I swear it created a playlist that could have been called "Freakgirl's Humiliation." It pulled out every crap song I have in there and broadcast it to the world.

For instance? ;-)

I'm guessing "Could've Been" by Tiffany maybe?

I almost bought Britney Spears' greatest hits album. ALMOST. Some of her faster songs are so good! When I picked it up, I immediately felt shame, so I put it down. I did download "Toxic" though, I love that song. ::shame::

Toxic, Britney Spears
It's Gonna Be Me, N Sync
Heat of the Moment, Asia
Margaritaville, Jimmy Buffet
Rhythm of the Night, DeBarge
Xanadu, ELO

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? NEED I GO ON?

Maddie - you're toxic and I'm slipping under.

I am happy now! Dude, Asia's "Only Time Will Tell" was my class song.

Oh, I also have "Toxic" and I'm a 41 y.o. man.

Anybody want some Groban?

Um, no thanks. :)

I also downloaded some Spice Girls. Suddenly downloading "Toxic" at 41 doesn't sound so bad, huh?

Someone gave me "Toxic", so yeah, yours is worse. ;-)

The more I think about this, the more I realize that I have very little shame regarding my "guilty" pleasures. I'm sure you get it, Maddie, being a big ol' showtune queen just like me.

Have I mentioned I saw Raul Esparza in "Company"? Surely, I must have somewhere along the line. :-)

I'll see your "Toxic" and raise you "Mmm-bop."

Ooooh, good one.

I like to prance around in my underwear to Sheena Easton's "STRUT."

And I bear no shame in having my iPOD playlist inadvertantly revealed to the entire office one afternoon while powering up my Nano.

"...er, hey, Michael?! MUSIQUE's 'Push, Push In the Bush, Bush' That is just so wrong..."

Haters, everywhere.

I'd like to swap iPods with you, Michael Guy. Maybe for an afternoon or a clandestine weekend at first and then see where it goes from there.

What? Like you don't know what I'm talking about. You see some dude at the mall and you just wanna get your hands on his iPod? Yeah, you know.
