If we live our lives the right way, then everything we do can become a work of art.

It's your duty to be beautiful
Sad boy? What sad boy? Look at the pretty flowers! Absent an appropriate vase, a tall pilsner will do just fine for arranging your early summer bouquet of iris and peony, ladies.
I am very partial to the pink-blush colored peonies. They are significant to me as they represent a carefree childhood with endless fields to explore along dirt roads on my red schwinn.
We had them all around the house; my mom used to hang the sheets out to line dry and every so often I could smell peony via my bed linens. And I used to flick off all the ants they attract, too. But later, as an adult, I learned that the ants are a vital part of a blooming peony. Ants eat the sticky goo that helps open the buds. See? I'm not so city.
I had a Schwinn, too, only gold with a gold-flecked banana seat....and a sissy bar (natch).
We had the pale pink peonies at home, too. I use to dip the blooms in a bucket of water to float the ants out before we brought them in the house for bouquets. Ahhhh, the smell. And line dried sheets are a pleasure only us simple country folk appreciate, brotha.
Brilliant! Pirate just nicked me two gorgeous pilsner glasses from the pub this weekend. I'll remember that they do double duty as vases, too.
I, too, covet the wall color, which looks especially stunning with the crisp, white trim and the deep blue of the irises. I'm so glad you have the cojones to put real color on your walls. So many people wimp out and do the cream thing in every room. Ugh.
yeah, i've read about that. i'll be doing a post on my site "Question Everything" shortly, but my general reaction is that religions shouldn't be exempt from the other laws that govern thruthful statements, such as the libel laws and those that require a modicum of truth in advertising. claiming "it's my relgion" shouldn't be a license to say whatever the fuck you want, and this "museum" is a perfect example of why.
I'm a simple guy. I like y'all, but don't tell me you're a "people person", OK?
Also, if you tell me you are "straight-acting", I'll still be polite (Grandma Betsy lives on in me), but we'll be through. I read. I can love you if you don't read much, but if you read really bad shit, then I may not be able to love you. I'm liberal. Way. Who doesn't enjoy a nice trip (or a nice piece of fish)? I've traveled some, and I'll arrange my life so that I always can. Old people, babies (in their case, I think it's because my head/body ratio is similar), and your mother dig me (probably more than you do), and I'm OK with that. Know that if I am into you, I'll be amenable to just about anything. He'll be a lucky man who I aim to please. I'm aiming just thinking about you.

Gorgeous! Adore peonies, I do.
Yeah, they're perty. They smell good. Something carefree and unpretentious about a peony, too.

Lovely flowers, but it's that wall colour I covet! J'adore. So very Pumpkin Spice or something.

I wish we could have been friends then.

TOA and CB, thanks for the props on the color. It's bold, yes, but actually a little richer and a little better in the flesh. Mulled Cider!
PS CB, you scroll down a bit and check out my post about the Creation Museum, which opened just down the pike from me this weekend.

Sure. You in the 'hood?
no, but i might be some day! :-)
What a great idea for a vase?
Beautiful! And count me in on LOVING the wall color.
I didn't mean to end that first sentence with a question mark. It was supposed to be an exclamation point.
Excuse me while I go lie down.
and you do a good job; being beautiful that is .
