So much energy to prove to you

Men and women who are comfortably heterosexual aren't obsessed with stamping out homosexuality. Normal, non-neurotic people don't care what other people do in the privacy of their own homes. Normal heterosexual men don't spend their Saturday nights hanging around gay bars to beat up gays--they're out with women.
It's simple, really. If you hate gays, you're neurotic. Or gay yourself. I think he's right. It's just like when people are so certain that being gay is a "lifestyle choice". Same thing. They're all but admitting they have the same urges themselves, but suppress them, right?

Thank you for linking this article. It does create pause for thought regarding the narrowing margins of acceptance in our society/culture.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but why would I care at all what other people are doing in their bedrooms? Honestly, I can't think of any of my friends who I wanna picture doing anything. OK, maybe one. Or two. What about their relationships? I don't care. I want them to be happy is all. It's just so ridiculously, exasperatingly schoolground behavior. I know I'm preaching to the choir. That's why I love y'all. You fucking humor me.

Yeah, I think anyone who asserts that sexual desire is a choice has made a choice about it. Of course, I also think most (but definitely not all) people are bisexual and in complete denial about that, so fwiw.

I also agree that the reasons why people go nuts and pick someone to hate mostly revolve around some kind of neurosis, psychopathy or ego sickness of whichever flavor. When it's not us queers, it's left-handed people or redheads or witches or whatever else.

Some days all I can do is quote Bill Hicks: We're a virus with shoes.

Is there room in that shirt for me, too? Probably not, the way you wear 'em all extra small and hot and stuff. ;p

I would add 'your'e neurotic, gay yourself, or frightened" frightened probably of something within you projected onto the hated object.
