Please tell me this is just one of those things where they style models a certain way. These gents, trousers jauntily rolled for the impending deluge, appear in the "What's New for Fall" section over at Polo.com.

Did you ever actually do this? Like in the 80s? Cuz I totally did, including the penny loafers. Best Dressed, Class of 1983, yo. You'd never guess it to see me now. I couldn't be more Banana Republic if I tried.

That's me circa 1984 - rolled Levi's 501s, white socks, black Doc Martens.
It's the mustard yellow socks that do it for me.
*fans self feverishly*
"...so the loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly. 'Hills' that is...swimming pools...movie stars..."
What is ATTRACTIVE about this look?! Toss in a washboard/jug and they're off to the Ashtabula Pork Festival. Yep.

Of course we all did it in the 80s, but I seriously hope that shit ain't coming back.
dear me, I sure hope this isn't going to be the trend (again)
we did this once before, and it didn't work out.
Ugh. Bad look!
