C'mon baby light my fire

Deep down, we're all monstrous. You know that, right? Go find out what lurks inside you. I first read mine as "Maiden-Eating Killer of Emotion" and I thought all my high school girlfriends would surely concur. I never meant to hurt anyone, though. It was a confusing time for all of us. I'd hang with your brother in the pool as long as I could, leaving you in the hot tub alone. ::sigh:: I'm really sorry about that, Jules. You'd get off eventually, though. I wasn't heartless.

Did I just do one of the 12 Steps?

I most certainly haven't grabbed any nuns lately.

Interesting that you have no quibble with the rest.

Those nuns are having a really bad week.

Abhorrent Nun-Devouring Ravager from the Enchanted Woods

Hey, millions of Christians can't be wrong, right? I'm abhorrent. (They knew they could suck me in with top shelf vocab.)

Yes, they had you pegged all along.

Nuns. They're a hoot, aren't they? One of my best grade school friends is actually a nun now. And no street clothes for that beeyotch. She habit-wearin'. Still do love her. When I last saw her we joked about her nuntan. Face and hands.
Let's talk more about nuns you say? I loved "Galileo's Daughter" by Dava Sobel. Anyone else read that? There is extant correspondence between Galileo and his daughter, a cloistered nun, and the book jumps off from that to dive deep into all the machinations of Florence and Rome of the time. Yum! It's a one-sided conversation, though, because his letters to her were apparently destroyed by the convent. He was a heretic and a blasphemer, yo.

Finally, I did MICHAEL and got:
Maiden-Injuring Cheerleader-Harming Abomination from the Enchanted Labyrinth

So I AM an abomination after all. Those Christians are uncanny.

When I was 18 and working as a telephone counsellor on a gay help line (true story) one of the people in the same intake that I was in was an ex-nun. Pauline. One of the sweetest people I ever met.

B.O.D.H.I.: Bloodthirsty Ogre from the Dreaded Haunted Isle

Hmmm. I never would have guessed that this place was haunted.

Who knew?

Anyhoo...

One of my best recovery friends is a Catholic Nun, and has been so for over 50 years. A Franciscan actually, for those who need a little more detail. Its a little scary sometimes how much a 40 year old practising gay Buddhist (yeah, I practise the gay and the Buddhist people, m'kay), and a 70-something celibate Catholic sister actually have in common. I love her to bits, she's a hoot.

Ummm, Mikey, you kinda did a Step 10 there:

"Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it".

We could talk about it more face to face when you arrive Down Under, m'kay sweetness? This could take some time ...

;-)

"nuntan" made pepsi come out of my nose.

note to self: don't sip beverages while reading Michael's blog.

Andrew-- I'll grab 'em, you devour them, deal?
